Bereavement Counselling

Fiona, 23

Shirley is brilliant. Shirley gives you hope (when others don't) and she has really made a difference in my life.

Libby, 40

I have had the great pleasure to experience Shirley's wisdom and council for the past 10 years. It was lucky for me to have found Shirley and I would truly like to recommend her services and thank her for making my life a most enriching one.

Sharon, 43

Shirley gave me a safe place to come and bare my soul.

Loss is a normal, but often painful part of day to day life. We all experience loss- even if it's the moment that has just gone. It is normal to experience a wide range of emotions - numbness, anger, sadness and even laughter when coming to terms with having lost something or someone in your life.

One of the biggest mistakes around grieving and loss is that there is a right way to handle it. In reality the only right way is what feels most manageable by you.

There are times however when the experience can be so overwhelming that you can feel totally consumed and overwhelmed by the whole experience. Friends and family might be encouraging you to "look on the bright side of things" or "isn't it time you moved on now?"

If this sounds familiar you might want to consider coming to have a talk. Just through talking you can lighten the load, have a place to gain some clarity and receive the caring support you need to find your way through to a better space.

To support you during this period, please feel feel to download the Surviving Loss article (PDF - 44Kb) . It may support you in finding some peace and support. Alternatively call me in the clinic and we can connect. To provide you additional incentive, print off the Introductory Coupon (PDF - 34Kb) which will entitle you to your first two consultations for the price of one.

I look forward to talking soon.
