Let’s Have a Chat Psychotherapy on the Gold Coast

I offer individual therapy for clients :

  • You might be looking for support to overcome stress and anxiety

  • You might want to get clear on what is and what isn't working in your life

  • You might be living with a long term problem. You might also be taking medication to support you with this. I can help and guide you to gain a fresh perspective on how you might be able to manage this situation so that it is less of a hassle for you.

  • You may be in recovery of a trauma related condition, such as PTSD or complex trauma - this is a particular area in which I work using the latest strategies of somatic psychotherapy and counselling to support you to overcome the anxiety and distress of trauma recovery. I support clients who have a counselling support package from the National Redress Program .

Alternatively you may be dealing with a recent problem such as the loss of a job, a loved one or those unexpected situations that come up in life.  So if you are looking for answers and haven't found them, then give me a call and we can have a chat to see if you feel we could be a good fit.

I draw on compassion focused, person centred principles when working with you. Some of the resources we explore in session have origins within my somatic ( body based) training, yoga influenced movement and breath practices and buddhist practices such as mindfulness, self compassion and meditation.

Can’t Get To The Clinic?

Are you too far away from the Gold Coast or you’re not able to get to the clinic at a time that suits you?

You might want to consider booking an online session with me. This is becoming more frequently used to support people who are in remote situations get the support and counsel that they deserve. It's not the same as sitting in the same room together, however more and more people are finding Zoom/Skype or FaceTime sessions are a good way of getting support that they would otherwise not have access to.

How Do I Organise an Online Session?

We book an appointment either via email or the phone and then we meet at the appointment time. If using Zoom, I will send a Zoom link prior to the session. Payment is via credit card at the completion of the session. You will receive a Tax Receipt on successful payment.

Some tips to make your online session as useful as possible

  • Make sure that your session is somewhere private where you will not be disturbed

  • Ensure that you can close the door so that friends, family and children won't disturb you

  • Have a glass of water or cup of tea or coffee handy- you may as well be comfortable

Online sessions are best suited to the following type of support

  • If your feeling anxious or upset and you feel you need to talk

  • There may be a specific one off problem that you want to talk about

  • Not sure of what support and services may be available to you in your area- I can help you tap into these

  • Having problems sleeping

  • Finding it a challenge to get motivated

  • Confused and not sure what needs to happen next

Online sessions are not a replacement for assistance you may already be receiving. They can be useful additional help when you need it. If you have a very distressing problem that feels very overwhelming you may be best contacting your GP in the initial instance for a face to face referral to a Mental Health Professional in your area. If you're not sure, we can have a quick no obligations talk about whether an online counselling session is suitable for you or not.
